Energy efficient renovations
|
Take advantage of a financial assistance from the Energy Efficiency Fund (EEF) to carry out renovation work aimed at improving the thermal envelope of buildings in order to increase their energy efficiency.

Eligible measures
- Replacing windows;
- Compartmentalizing the building and making it airtight (to eliminate air leaks)1;
- Insulating the building;
- Installing thermal and foam screens in greenhouses.
Financial assistance
Rebate offered for each tier of natural gas saved2.
The maximum amount of financial assistance may not exceed 50% of the cost of the measures, up to a limit of:
- $40,000 for customers with a consumption volume below 150,000 cubic metres;
- $100,000 for customers with a consumption volume of 150,000 cubic metres or more.
Minimum requirements for the work
The work must exceed the standards of the Model National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (PDF | 38 ko).
Are you eligible for this program?
Eligible are Gaz Métro customers who own or rent commercial, industrial, institutional or multi-unit buildings with four or more units, with the exception of customers subject to Tariffs 4 and 5.

Inform us about your project
Before starting the work3, you need to inform us about your project by submitting the Project outline form.

Validate your annual consumption
Consult your bill or contact us to validate your annual consumption. You have up to 2 months following completion of the work to submit the Participant’s Guide or the evaluation.

If you are consuming less than 150,000 cubic metres annually:
Complete the Participant’s Guide.

If you are consuming 150,000 cubic metres or more annually:
You need to provide an evaluation of the energy savings generated by the building envelope measures that are to be implemented. This evaluation must be conducted by a consulting firm or any other competent service provider that is qualified to estimate the energy savings using established methods. |

Once the work is completed, send us:
- Copies of the bills for your work and the materials installed;
- Photographs of the work done;
- Any additional documentation available describing the technical details of your project (ex: quotations from a contractor or supplier, product specification sheet, technical work description, plans, etc.)
