This program is aimed at encouraging the construction of energy efficient buildings that will reduce your operating costs and increase the resale value.

The buildings must be at least 25% more energy efficient than the standards of the Model National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (PDF | 38 ko).

Financial assistance from the Energy Efficiency Fund (EEF)

• Obtain $1 per cubic metre of natural gas saved, up to a maximum of $100,000.¹

If you install an appliance that is covered by the Gaz Métro program for more energy efficient appliances, the cubic metres saved due to these appliances, as well as the savings resulting from a natural gas conversion to another energy source, will be deducted from the savings financed by the EEF.

Are you eligible for this program?

Eligible are Gaz Métro customers who own or rent commercial, industrial, institutional or multi-unit buildings with four or more units, with the exception of customers subject to Tariffs 4 and 5.

Steps to follow:

The energy performance of the building must be validated by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). Consult the NRCan Validation of New Building Designs service to learn the steps to follow.
