The Energy Efficiency Fund (EEF) offers financial support for projects in development, experimentation or demonstration of innovative technologies and approaches to energy efficiency.

The program ends on February 28, 2011 and will not be renewed.
Please contact the EEF for details.

These projects of development, experimentation or demonstration must enable the realisation of energy savings and must be applicable to buildings that use natural gas for space or water heating. The innovative technology or approach must be related to a building’s envelope, to the integration of renewable energy or any other innovative technology or approach deemed admissible by the EEF.

As well, the project must meet one or more of the following objectives:

  • To test the use of new or emerging technologies in the Québec market resulting in savings of natural gas used in space or water heating applications;
  • To test one or more innovative commercial approaches resulting in savings of natural gas used in space or water heating applications;
  • To test the development of measures or incentives that result in eliminating or reducing barriers to the adoption of energy efficiency measures for space or water heating with natural gas for Gaz Métro customers, especially low income customers.

The innovation projects related to gas technologies, HVAC units or control measures are eligible for the Technological Innovation’s program of Gaz Métro.

The financial assistance granted to the selected projects may reach $100 000.
