What is Novoclimat^®?

The Novoclimat^®1 program of the Agence de l’efficacité énergétique (AEÉ) is aimed at encouraging the construction of social housing certified Novoclimat offering premium energy efficiency.

The financial assistance is paid to the project’s real estate developer. It is offered to organizations eligible for the Affordable Housing Québec (social or community component) or the Accès Logis Québec programs of the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ).

This may include cooperatives, non profit housing cooperatives and acquiring corporations,owners of the building.

Buildings certified Novoclimat^® offer an energy efficiency rating of at least 25% higher than conventional buildings, while offering many other advantages:

• Higher standards on insulation, air tightness, ventilation and fenestration;
• Healthier indoor air;
• High performance heating system;
• Warm, comfortable floors, and much more…
